Name: Work Experience PEI

Requirements: This position is being offered by SkillsPEI under Work Experience PEI. To be eligible for this position you must be unemployed and meet one of the following criteria; Be an individual who has established a claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits; OR Be an individual whose EI benefit period ended within the last three (3) years; OR Be an individual who established and was paid a claim for EI maternity or parental benefits within the past five (5) years and is re-entering the labour force after having left it to care for newborn or newly adopted children.

Terms: This is a temporary, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $435.00 per for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some high school.

Experience: City of Summerside will provide training..

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Load, unload and transport construction materials, Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades, Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs, Assist in demolishing buildings, Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, Read blueprints

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Site Environment: Outdoors

Other Information: Candidates must meet EI eligibility criteria. Job duration is approximately 8 weeks. Duties: to develop carpentry skills while working at the Summerside Raceway.
