Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working evenings and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.
Notes: bonus, gratuities, and other benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Safe food handling certificate, Responsible Beverage Service Certificate, Bartender certification, Bartender/mixology course certificate, Serving It Right Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Type of Bookkeeping and Accounting Experience: Cashiering

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Point-of-sale system, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet browser

Ability to Supervise: 20 people or less, Staff in various areas of responsibility

Budgetary Responsibility: $500,001 - $1,500,000

Work Setting: Restaurant, Bar, Catering firm, Convention centre, Hotel, Multi purpose facility, Sports and entertainment facilities, Tavern or pub

Specific Skills: Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations, Determine type of services to be offered, Implement operational procedures, Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, reconciliation and related forms, Control inventory, Monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices, Respond to customer complaints, Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, Develop, implement and analyze budgets, Participate in marketing plans and implementation, Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance, Recruit and hire staff, Train staff, Conduct performance reviews, Supervise staff, Cost products and services, Customer service oriented
