Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).

Work Setting: Hotel, Dormitories/student residence

Size of Lodging Operation (Hotels, motels, resorts etc.): 101 - 200 rooms

Size of Hospital / Health Institution: Not required

Size of Dormitories / Student Residence: Less than 50 beds

Specific Skills: Establish and implement operational procedures for housekeeping department, Plan and co-ordinate activities of housekeeping supervisors and crews, Co-ordinate inspection of assigned areas, Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met, Maintain financial records, Prepare budgets and payrolls, Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals, Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and uniforms, Schedule and assign duties of housekeeping staff, Ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out, Respond to complaints of guests

Additional Skills: Select and purchase equipment and supplies, Hire staff, Supervise staff, Co-ordinate contract services, Operate computer software programs, Co-ordinate maintenance and repair services, Supervise in-house laundry services, Co-ordinate in-house laundry services, Co-ordinate dry cleaning and valet services

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Large workload

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, Public transportation is not available

Ability to Supervise: 11-15 people
